Local authors, including M R Bewick will be speaking about the books that have been most prominent to them. Bring along a book which was pivotal in your life and share it with us.

The Global Book Alliance is working to ensure all children have access to books.

‘Students’ success in school depends on access to high-quality reading materials, yet millions of children are unable to learn to read due to the absence of these materials.

The impact of getting the right books in the hands of children is immense. Global poverty could decline by 12% if children in low-income countries acquired basic reading skills.

The challenge of ensuring every child has access to high-quality books and reading materials is not one that any single institution can meet alone. The Global Book Alliance works in partnership with donors, multilateral organizations, governments, non-governmental organizations and the private sector committed to ending illiteracy.

Books for every child!’
