During June we will be showing a selection of artist Jean McNeil’s prints and collages entitled  ‘Aspects of the Sea‘. She talks about her work here:

  “I am a landscape painter, but have always been drawn to representing the sea, a fascinating and elusive subject.  I made a series of monoprints in 2016 and 17 that were inspired by the movements and moods of the North Sea.  At one point, in frustration, I tore some of these up and reassembled them, hence the collages.  I think I’ve completely broken with the horizon, but it is still there somewhere, and I hope some of the mystery as well.

I moved to Wivenhoe from London in 2011.  I have shown my work in London, Wivenhoe, Colchester and Walton-on-the-Naze and am a member of Colchester Art Society.”
