'Sunset on the River' by Jane Watson

Jane Watson’s painting, ‘ Sunset on the River’ will be on show at the gallery until September – here, she talks about her work:

“A few short years ago, I decided to try my hand at painting a couple of pictures to decorate my home.

Using left-over sheets of MDF and ordinary house paint I managed to create some original and bold works, admired by all who saw them and I have become hooked!

The inspiration for my art comes from many sources, including people and places that are close to my heart.  Nature plays a large part, along with the bright colours found in landscapes, foods and simple objects.

I have now progressed to using canvas instead of MDF and use both acrylic and oils in my work and have taken on several commissions.”
