About the Author

Poet Sylvia Sellers

“I was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire in 1933, and moved to Colchester in 1959. I’m Mother to Jane, Bill, David and Tom and Nanny Sellers to Rebecca, Hannah and Adam.
Twenty three years retired, I wrote my first poem in 1969, second 1988, with numerous thereafter following Wivenhoe Bookshop Writing Courses and the inspirational Poetrywivenhoe.
I am inspired, and compelled sometimes, to write poems about anything that stirs some kind of emotion, right down to my search for the perfect fish and chips, where the fish is so fresh it falls off the fork, which isn’t easy.
Hence these poetry booklets covering Birds, Places and Emotions – or whatever strikes me enough to scribble about it.”
