‘The Artist’s Garden’ by Natalie Eldred

Natalie Eldred is a recent arrival to Wivenhoe but was born and raised in Essex. She holds a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Exeter College of Art, and in 2016 gained an MA with distinction in Children’s Book Illustration from Anglia Ruskin, Cambridge. In the 1990s she worked as a freelance model maker in Bristol, including for Aardman Animations. She is a founding member of Wivenhoe Printworks and currently works as an artist and teacher.

Drawing has always been a passion for Natalie throughout her artistic career she has kept sketchbooks and regularly drawn from life. Inspired by the important role gardens have played throughout lockdown, the work in this exhibition explores the theme of gardens and allotments. It showcases observational drawings as well as imagined and illustrative works.
