Sheena is a Wivenhoe artist with a studio at Cuckoo Farm Studios, Colchester. She has shown recntly at the Sentinel Gallery and as part of the Wivenhoe Art Trail. She talks about her work here:

“I work primarily in acrylic paint, collage and inks using a variety of techniques to create images which are layered with texture and colour. Most of my paintings are rooted in landscapes both in Essex and further afield.   I am interested in how memory and emotions edit, shape, and change what we have seen and experienced.

The work I am exhibiting in this Over The Sofa exhibition is all on acrylic paper. I start by making a mono-print using a gelli plate and then overlay different prints in a technique similar to that used to create a batik. FIinally I work into the image with acrylic pens or paint.”
